Conclusions
-
1.
The adduct of phenylacetylene and trichlorobromomethane, namelyα-bromo-β-(trichloromethyl)styrene, was obtained by free-radical addition.
-
2.
The dehydrohalogenation ofα-bromo-β-(trichloromethyl)styrene in alcoholic alkali solution leads to the formation ofβ,β-dichlorovinyl phenyl ketone, and to the formation of trichloromethylphenylacetylene in triethylamine medium.
