Conclusions

  1. 1.

    The IR spectra of N-(hydroxyalkyl)-uracils were studied in the solid state and in solution.

  2. 2.

    The OH group of the hydroxyalkyl radical of 3-(β-hydroxyethyl)-6-methyluracils participates in an intramolecular hydrogen bond.

  3. 3.

    The OH group of the hydroxyethyl radical of 1-(β-hydroxyethyl)-6-methyluracils participates in an intermolecular hydrogen bond.
