The synthesis ofβ-D-glucopyranose pentaacetate,β-maltose octaacetate, 1-O-benzoyl-2,3,4,6-tetra-O-acetyl-β-D-glucopyranose, and 1-O-β-(N-carbobenzoxy-L-alanyl)-2,3,4,6-tetra-O-acetyl-D-glucopyranose was accomplished by the reaction of acylhaloses with the tert-butyl esters of the corresponding acids.
