Conclusions

  1. 1.

The syntheses of someβ-functionally substitutedα,β-epoxy aldehydes and their condensations at the aldehyde group with orthoformic ester, nitromethane, acetone cyanohydrin, and chloroacetic ester are described.

  2. 2.

In the oxidation of dienic and trienic aldehydic esters monoepoxides are formed at the double bond adjacent to the aldehyde group.
