International Applied Mechanics Aims and scope

Abstract

We consider the problem of the steady motion of a linear-elastic and envelope surface of a fixed horizontal shelf of a flexible filament of semiinfinite length. We investigate the effect of longitudinal waves reflected from the point of encounter and point of descent of the filament on the parameters of motion of the filament.
