Conclusions

  1. 1.

The molecular-weight distributions of polyethylenes obtained on the soluble system (C2H5)2TiCl2Al(C2H5)2Cl in benzene, ethyl chloride, and 1,2-dichloroethane and on the heterogeneous system TiCl4Al(C2H5)2Cl in propane have been determined.

  2. 2.

The polyethylene obtained on the (C2H5)2TiCl2-Al(C2H5)2Cl system in chlorine-containing solvents is characterized by low ratios of the weight-average to the number-average molecular weight (¯Mw√Mn=1.8–5.1) and the molecular-weight distribution has a bimodal nature.

  3. 3.

A narrow molecular-weight distribution leads to a considerable enhancement of the physicomechanical properties of the polyethylene.
