The valence of cerium in synthetic and natural cerium aluminates and silicates. Part 1. Compounds of the perovskite group

  • Published:
Bulletin of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR, Division of chemical science Aims and scope

Summary

  1. 1.

We synthesized solid solutions in the systems CeAlO3-LaAlO3 and CeAlO3-SmAlO3.

  2. 2.

We have studied the effect of the gaseous medium and temperature on the stability of solid solutions (x CeAlO3, y LnAlO3), where Ln-La, Sm.

  3. 3.

In the synthetic mineral ceralite cerium is in the trivalent state in a compound CeAlO3 of the perovskite type.
