Summary

  1. 1.

    The phase diagram of the MgAl2O4-NdAlO3 system has been studied by crystal optical and x-ray structural analysis.

  2. 2.

    The system is of the simple eutectic type without the formation of chemical compounds or of solid solutions. The eutectic occurs at a temperature of 1835° and its composition is 62 mol% MgAl2O4 and 38 mol% NdAlO3.
