Summary

  1. 1.

We have studied the region of celsian compositions in the system BaO-Al2O3-Ga2O3-SiO2-GeO2. Continuous solid solutions have been found over the whole concentration range of barium alumo (gallo) silicates (germanates).

  2. 2.

For isomorphic mixtures with a monoclinic celsian lattice we have studied the dependences of refractive index and density on the composition. X-ray diffraction data are given.
