On the problem of amidimidol tautomerism of N-phosphorylamidophosphates and phosphinates

Bulletin of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR, Division of chemical science Aims and scope

Conclusions

  1. 1.

The IR spectra of N-phosphorylimidophosphates and phosphinates were investigated. In substances of this type, the frequencies corresponding to vibrations with the participation of P=N groups lie within the region 1296–1338 cm−1, while those of the P=O groups lie within the region 1210–1253 cm−1.

  2. 2.

An analysis of the spectra of N-phosphorylamidophosphates and phosphinates and their comparison with the spectra of the corresponding N-phosphorylimidophosphates and phosphinates confirms the amide structure of N-phosphorylamidophosphates and phosphinates.

  3. 3.

The phosphoryl group can form strong hydrogen bonds with NH-groups and thereby greatly shift the absorption of the N-H vibrations toward lower frequencies, beyond the region of 3100 cm−1. Thus, in N-phosphorylamidophosphates and phosphinates the N -H vibrations are characterized by absorption in the region of 2700 cm−1.
