Some structural peculiarities of nitroxides of the piperidine series

Conclusions

  1. 1.

    2, 2, 6, 6-Tetramethyl-4-oxopiperidino-1-oxy free radical was reduced according to the Meerwein-Ponndorf reaction without affecting the free valence.

  2. 2.

    The dipole moments of a number of nitroxides were measured.

  3. 3.

    The distribution of charge and spin density of the unpaired electron in certain nitroxides was evaluated.

  4. 4.

    The preferential conformation of the heterocycle in the investigated free radicals were established.
