Summary

  1. 1.

The reactions of bis-2-chloroethyl and bis[2-(2-chloroethoxy)ethyl] cis-4-cyclohexene-1,2-dicarboxylates with sodium alkoxides were investigated.

  2. 2.

Reaction occurs with the transesterification of the chloroethoxy (or chloroethoxyethoxy) group in the bis-2-chloroethyl or bis[2-(2-chloroethoxy)ethyl] cis-4-cyclohexene-1,2-dicarboxylate for the alkoxy of the alkoxide.

  3. 3.

Under the conditions of the reaction, simultaneously with transesterification the isomerization of cis-4-cyclohexene-1,2-dicarboxylic esters into their trans isomers occurs.
