Conclusions

  1. 1.

    The kinetics of the catalytic ketonization of CH3COOH over coprecipitated ZrO2-Al2O3 catalysts were studied by a flow method at 300–370° under conditions of zero order with respect to the reagent. With increasing ZrO2 content in the catalyst, an increase in the catalytic activity is observed.

    Ketonization of CH3COOH proceeds directly, without intermediate formation of acetic anhydride.
