Conclusions

  1. 1.

    The basic type of interaction of nitric acid with the solvents considered (1,2-dichloroethane, methylene chloride, and chloroform) is complex formation; the constants of complex formation were evaluated.

     
  2. 2.

    It was hypothesized that the bond in the acid-solvent complex is formed not at the nitro-group but at the acid proton.
