Spectra and molecular structure of nitric acid in solutions Communication 2. Solutions of 1,2-dichloroethane, methylene chloride, and chloroform
The basic type of interaction of nitric acid with the solvents considered (1,2-dichloroethane, methylene chloride, and chloroform) is complex formation; the constants of complex formation were evaluated.
It was hypothesized that the bond in the acid-solvent complex is formed not at the nitro-group but at the acid proton.
