Bulletin of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR, Division of chemical science Aims and scope

Summary

  1. 1.

A study was made of the chromatographic separation of mixtures of alcohols and other oxygen-containing compounds with water on columns containing polyethylene glycol of molecular weight 2000 as stationary phase on porous and nonporous carriers. The best results were obtained with sodium chloride as solid carrier.

  2. 2.

An appraisal of resolving power and quantitative analysis with such a column is given.
