Conclusions
-
1.
The influence of benzene on the isomerization of n-octadecane in the presence of a freshly sulfurized catalyst WS2 was studied at a temperature of 400° and presence of 20 atm.
-
2.
The addition of 6% benzene causes a certain inhibition of cracking of the isooctadecanes formed and increases the total selectivity of the isomerization reaction.
-
3.
Speculations on the mechanism of the isomerization and the action of additions of benzene on the catalyst studied were expressed.
