    A study was made of the Emde sodium amalgam reduction of (ferrocenylmethyl)trimethyl-, allyl(ferrocenylmethyl)dimethyl-, and benzyl(ferrocenylmethyl)dimethyl-ammonium iodides.

     
  2. 2.

    A ferrocene nucleus stabilizes a neighboring radical center to a less extent than a benzene nucleus, to a greater extent than a methyl group, and to about the same extent as the double bond in an allyl group.
