  1. 1.

    A new method for the synthesis of ophthalmic acid is proposed.

  2. 2.

    A method was developed for the preparation of the depsipeptide analog of ophthalmic acid and the protected depsipeptide analog of glutathione; in these glycine is replaced by glycolic acid.
