Synthesis of pyridinyl-4-pyrimidinamine derivatives

Summary

N-(1-Methyl-2-pyridin-3′(4′)-yl-vinyl)acetimidoylchlorides (5, prepared byBeckmann rearrangement of the oximes of 3-methyl-4-pyridin-3′(4′)-yl-3-buten-2-ones (4)) react with cyanamide and N,N-dialkylcyanamides in the presence of titanium(IV) chloride to give 4-amino-2,6-dimethyl-5-pyridinyl-pyrimidine derivatives (7).
