Summary
-
1.
A new method has been developed for producing Na(K)3NbO4 through the orthoperoxoniobates of the alkali metals, formed from sodium and potassium orthoniobates, produced in the form of alloys from mixtures of Nb2O5 with Na(K)OH by dissolving them in aqueous solutions of hydrogen peroxide.

2.
Under these conditions, the orthoniobates of sodium and potassium, in contrast to aqueous solutions, do not hydrolyze. The sodium and potassium orthoperoxoniobates are isolated from solutions with ethanol in the form of solid salts with the composition Na(K)3NbO8. When heated in the temperature range 170–200° for 2–3 h, the pure orthoniobates of sodium and potassium are formed.
