Investigation of the hydrogenation of mono- and disubstituted acetylenic hydrocarbons on a skeletal cobalt catalyst

Conclusions

  1. 1.

    Two sources of selectivity and stereospecificity in processes of hydrogenation of mono- and disubstituted acetylenic hydrocarbons (C5-C7) were studied on a skeletal cobalt catalyst.

  2. 2.

    α-Acetylenic hydrocarbons are hydrogenated on this catalyst with a low degree of selectivity with respect to the mechanism and with a high degree of selectivity determined by adsorption displacement.

  3. 3.

    With branching of the carbon chain of monosubstituted acetylenic hydrocarbons, the selectivity of the hydrogenation with respect to the mechanism decreases.

  4. 4.

    The relatively low stereospecificity in the process of hydrogenation of disubstituted acetylenic hydrocarbons depends almost entirely on the mechanism of the hydrogenation at the step preceding desorption of the intermediate products.
