Summary

  1. 1.

    Alkylation of p-cresol with dipropenyl in the presence of ethylsulfuric acid and zinc chloride on aluminum oxide takes place more readily than alkylation with divinyl and piperylene.

     
  2. 2.

    The reaction proceeds as a C-alkylation; formation of neutral products of cyclization of isohexenyl-pcresol has not been detected.
