Dearomatization of liquid paraffin by an adsorbent in a propane solution

  • Published:
Chemistry and Technology of Fuels and Oils Aims and scope

Conclusions

  1. 1.

A liquid paraffin with any degree of dearomatization can be obtained by the method of adsorption purification in a propane solution.

  2. 2.

In the dearomatization of the liquid paraffin, which has been isolated from the kerosene-gas oil fraction by means of zeolite and which contains about 1% aromatic hydrocarbons, a 99% dearomatized paraffin (calculated on the the starting paraffin) can be obtained.

The removal of the liquid paraffin containing 0.2% aromatic hydrocarbons from the adsorbent was 140%. The removal for the completely dearomatized paraffin from the adsorbent was at the 80–90% level.
