The possibility of obtaining controlled resistors using semiconductor oxides

  • Published:
Soviet Physics Journal Aims and scope

Abstract

The possibility of using copper and cadmium oxides to obtain resistors having a linear current-voltage characteristic is considered. A somewhat excessive coefficient of voltage, of up to 10%, enables us to control the conductivity of such a resistor by superimposing on it a transverse control field. The effect of one and two control fields on the resistor parameters is considered. The use of vanadium pentoxide admixture enabled us to compensate the negative temperature coefficient of resistance of the initial components and to extend the operating-temperature range of the resistors obtained up to 100 ° C.
