Conclusions
-
1.
The thermionic constants have been measured for the (111) face of a tantalum single crystal: ϕ(111) = 4. 02 ± 0. 02 eV and A0(1−r) = 102 ± 10 A/cm2. deg2.

2.
A peak is observed on the I(t) curves; at the peak, the work function ϕmin is found to be ϕ(111)Cs = 1. 75 ± 0. 02 eV and the coverage is found to be Θ ≈ 1.
