Abstract

The effect of transverse mass flow on heat transfer has been determined for the case of sublimation of a moving plate in a rarefied gas medium. It has been established that at Knudsen numbers Kn>0. 001 it is necessary to take into account the effect of the wall layer near the subliming surface.
