Conclusions

  1. 1.

    The difference in calculating the mean diameters according to [1] and from the suggested formula (1), with the new expression for the correction taken into consideration, amounts to 7μ.

  2. 2.

    When the mean diameter of tapering thread plug gauges with an asymmetrical profile threaded according to GOST 9909-70 are measured by means of the three-cylinder method with the well-known angular attachment, it is recommended to use for calculation purposes the expressions (1) and (2) which provide more precise results.
