Dynamics of vapor-bubble breakoff in free-convection boiling

Abstract

An analytical solution of the problem of the breakoff diameter of a vapor bubble and the breakoff frequency in free-convection boiling is given. It is shown that there are two bubble break off regimes and the boundary between them is determined.
