Abstract

Let there be a layer of liquid of known mass covering the inside solid surface of a cylinder and at rest relative to it (resulting, for example, from the action of a centrifugal force after protracted rotation of the cylinder about its axis). When the temperatures of the solid surface and of the medium in direct contact with the free surface of the liquid are constant, we have for the liquid the heat conduction equation with boundary conditions for the temperature
