Abstract

The problem of the analytic determination of the stability criterion for a charged droplet of conductive liquid is examined and experimental results relating to the dispersion of droplets from aqeous solutions of various compositions in a nonpolar medium in a uniform electric field are described. It is shown that the experiments and the theory are in satisfactory agreement.
