Temperature conditions of departure from nucleate boiling at high pressures

  • Published:
Journal of engineering physics Aims and scope

Abstract

The departure from nucleate boiling is investigated with reference to carbon dioxide boiling on a thin platinum wire. At pressures p > 0.5 pc the DNB temperature is close to the maximum superheat temperature.
