Measuring internal friction in a ferrite from the damping of elastic vibrations

Abstract

Internal friction in a nickel-zinc ferrite was measured from the damping of impact-excited vibrations. Magnetization increases the decrement in low fields followed by a maximum and then a decrease towards a limit for technical saturation.
