Effect of dipole-dipole intermolecular forces in the vibration spectra of organic compounds

II. Temperature and phase dependence of frequencies in the Raman spectra of monosubstituted benzenes

Soviet Physics Journal Aims and scope

Abstract

The authors report the Raman spectra of toulene and benzene monohalides in the gaseous and crystalline states and at various temperatures in the liquid state. Shifts towards longer and shorter wavelengths are observed. A theoretical analysis is given. The changes are attributed to orientation interaction.
