Gravitational waves in the general theory of relativity

II. Planar-front gravitational kundt waves

Abstract

The invariant theory of gravitational radiation derived using the energy-momentum tensor of the gravitational field is applied to exact solutions of the Einstein equation found by Kundt [2]. It is concluded that these solutions generally describe gravitational waves with sources.
