The special features of the spectra of radical-recombination luminescence in ZnO and ZnS

Soviet Physics Journal Aims and scope

Abstract

The spectra of the radical-recombination luminescence (RRL) and photoluminescence of zinc oxide and zinc sulphide are studied. The appearance in the RRL spectra of new bands compared with those of photoluminescence is attributed to specific surface centers. The temperature dependence of RRL is explained on the basis of a change in the recombination mechanism of hydrogen atoms with temperature.
