Properties of copper conducting alloys for electrical machines

Conclusions

  1. 1.

    Cu−Zr−B and Cu−Cr−Zr alloys meet the requirements for sliding contacts in electrical machines in terms of their electrical properties and commutation characteristics.

     
  2. 2.

    The higher heat resistance of these alloys as compared with M1 copper makes it possible to raise the operating temperature of slip rings and commutators.

     
  3. 3.

    These alloys can be used for manufacturing commutators and slip rings in electrical machines of small and large capacity with operation at temperatures up to 180° and high peripheral speeds.
