Effect of the interaction of molecular vibration and rotation on the spectral-line contour

Soviet Physics Journal Aims and scope

Abstract

A study has been made of the effect of the interaction of molecular vibration and rotation on the line contour by a first-order treatment of the perturbation-theory series expansion of the wave function; the result is displacement and asymmetry of the contour. The deviation of the contour from Lorentz ion depends on many factors, so the results for individual lines may be different.
