Abstract
The photoluminescence and x-ray luminescence spectra of KI(Tl) crystals having various activator concentrations have been studied at 100, 295, and 450 °K. With less than 0.15 mole% Tl, the emission spectra are independent of the activator concentration. The emission spectra of crystals having higher activator concentrations also contain the emission of “paired” centers. Another emission band has been established for these centers, at λ = 420 nm.
