Abstract
The predominant-orientation parameters and grain defectiveness (microscopic cracks and pores) have been evaluated for extruded coke-pitch samples subjected to various types of heat treatment (220–2770 °K). The calculations are based on a previously reported theoretical model and experimental thermal-expansion coefficients for temperatures in the range 300–1070 °K. The results are used in a discussion of the effect of macroscopic structure on thermal expansion.
