Abstract
The temperature dependence of the first magnetic-anisotropy constant of Li0.5Fe2.5−xAlxO4 (x = 0, 0.2, 0.4) ferrites is calculated on the basis of the single-ion model with an account of biquadratic indirect exchange. The coefficients governing the splitting caused in the levels of Fe3+ in tetrahedral and octahedral positions by the lattice field are found.
