Application of one-band concepts to the diborides of group IV transition metals

  • Published:
Soviet Physics Journal Aims and scope

Abstract

Results are presented on the electrical conductivity, thermal emf, thermal conductivity, Hall coefficient, and Ettingshausen-Nernst coefficient for the diborides of Ti, Zr, and Hf. The one-band model is used to calculate the concentration, mobility, effective mass, Fermi energy, etc for the conduction electrons. It is concluded that this model is applicable to these compounds.
