Theorem on the relationship between the field of a vertical dipole and that of a horizontal dipole

Abstract

Formulas are given for calculating the components of the Hertz vector of a horizontal dipole from the given Hertz vector of an electric or magnetic vertical dipole. The result may be used to construct recurrence formulas for the case of horizontally-layered media.
