The effect of the excitation density on the radioluminescence of single crystals of ZnS-Ag II

The part played by electron traps in the process of radioluminescence is analyzed on the basis of investigations into the dependence of the scintillation fading duration on temperatme, thermoluminescence curves, and the relationship between the amplitude and the fading duration in ZnS-Ag. The reasons for unbalanced filling of electron traps during excitation by α-particles are discussed. Extensive use is made of laws of behavior obtained by other authors during investigations into photo- and cathodoluminescence.
