Abstract
The volume attenuation coefficients of water clouds and fogs are calculated over the wave-length range 0.3–25 μ. The particle size is assumed to obey a γ-distribution, whose parameters are varied over wide ranges. The calculation incorporates the most accurate and detailed recent information on the components of the complex refractive index of water.
