Abstract
Compounds of the formulaLnBr3(2-bipy)2 · 6 H2O,LnBr2OH(2-bipy)2 · 4 H2O (Ln = Tb, Dy, Ho, Er, Yb, Lu), YBr3(2-bipy)2 · 6 H2O and YBr3(4-bipy)2 · 6 H2O (2-bipy = 2,2′-bipyridyl;4-bipy = 4,4′-bipyridyl) were prepared and their infrared spectra investigated between 4 000–400 cm−1. They have been characterized by their thermal properties.
