Abstract
The scattering cross section of the reaction π + N → N + π, π + N → → N + σ is calculated by the semiclassical method. It is predicted that the latter reaction occurs through N** resonance. The mass of this resonance, the spin, and isospin are found. The zero approximation with respect to the coupling constant between the π- and π-mesons is considered.
