Abstract

With respect to naturally occurring Cu-Tl-containing chalcogenides the system Tl2S-Cu2S was investigated in order to establish the compositions of ternary compounds and their thermal stabilities. Three phases, CuTlS, Cu3TlS2, and Cu9TlS5 were found which melt congruently and incongruently, resp., at 416, 410, and 461°C. For all three ternary phases X-ray diagrams are given.
