Shift of the center of aiming of a photoelectric autocollimator for a known form of mirror nonplanarity

Conclusions

  1. 1.

A formula is derived for the function of the change of illumination of the image of a mark when aiming an autocollimator onto a mirror for which the deviation of the surface from a plane is expressed in the form of a sinusoid.

  2. 2.

For asymmetric distortions of the mirror surface the shift of the center of aiming of a photoelectric autocollimator having a vibrating slit is obtained as a function of the change of the slit width and the amplitude of its oscillations.

  3. 3.

For accurate measurements of small angles, as occurs during calibration and checking of angular measures using the autocollimating method, the resultant computational formulas can be used for determination of the error due to nonplanarity of the faces of the checked measures.
