Filtering properties of “M” systems for determining surface roughness parameters

  • Published:
Measurement Techniques Aims and scope

Conclusions

The relationships of the surface-roughness height parameters Ra and Hrms to the basic length and the origin of counting were calculated for a sinusoidal profile model and represented on the graph, and a formula of that relationship for the parameter Hrms was obtained. A formula for the relationship of the mean value ¯Hrms to the basic length was derived for the case of equiprobable distribution of the origins of counting.
