Conclusions
-
1.
The overlapping of the confidence intervals governing the absolute error of the gage in the case of the apparatus described in this paper and in that of the GS-1M goniometer confirms the high accuracy of angular measurement characterizing the new apparatus. Thus the results are in excellent agreement with theory.
-
2.
The apparatus enables us to automatic the checking of angular gages of the third and fourth categories and classes 1 and 2 and to eliminate the subjective component of the measuring error.
-
3.
The synchronous motor used in the apparatus may also be employed in other fields of measurement.
